Removable Stair Rail W

This basement stair situation required a stair rail that can be removed, so big items can be carried downstairs.  The top and bottom rails with spindles are one unit, which can be lifted of the blocks attached to the top after loosening two screws.  The three-ply bottom of the post stays in the tread.  The middle ply is part of the railing unit and slides out of the bottom post piece.  The wood used here is white pine.
